Opening week of the Venice Biennale 2009

On Wednesday the 3rd of June 2009 the first visitors were welcomed into the British Pavilion to experience Giardini, Steve McQueen’s new work for the Venice Biennale. These images capture a glimpse of our experience of the opening week, from the exhibitors arriving for a preview, the press rushing around to get their stories and special guests such as Queen Sonja of Norway visiting the Pavilion.
